Artist’s statement:
The Journey, my first public exhibit, is inspired by my desire to expose myself to the world. I was born in Manhattan on September 12, 2002, to immigrant parents from Cali, Colombia. My family’s culture and music have a huge impact on my art. As far as I can remember, my parents encouraged me to have hobbies. Soon I realized that creating art and playing music was all I wanted to do. I’ve been fortunate enough to experiment with different forms of creative expression such as drawing, graphic design, painting, video production, drumming, and the piano. Experiences from my childhood helped strengthen my character and passion for art. My Dad has taught me that discipline is the path to achieving my goals. I’m determined to make my passion for art into my profession and not let fear or social conditioning determine my future.
